Terms of Use
Last updated: 1st November 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of wakili.tech (the "Hub"), provided by Wakili.tech ("Wakili.tech", "we", "us", "our"). By using the Hub you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. If you use the Hub on behalf of a firm or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
1.The Hub and our tools
The Hub is the home of the Wakili.tech suite of web-based tools for legal practitioners. Each tool runs on its own subdomain (for example, pdf.wakili.tech) and is governed by its own terms and privacy information, which apply in addition to these Terms when you use that tool. Where a tool's terms conflict with these Terms, the tool's terms prevail for that tool.
Our Privacy Notice forms part of these Terms. We may add, change, suspend or withdraw any tool or part of the Hub at any time, and we do not promise that the Hub will be uninterrupted or error-free.
2.Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, and be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Hub.
3.Fees
The Hub is free to use. Some tools may offer paid features. Any fees, billing period and renewal terms will be set out in that tool's terms and shown to you before you pay.
4.Acceptable use
You must not use the Hub or any tool to:
- process, create or share content that is unlawful, including content that infringes copyright or other rights, is defamatory, or exploits children;
- disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Hub or any tool, including by automated or bulk use;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your connection with Wakili.tech;
- break any law of Kenya or of the place where you are.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms.
5.Not legal advice
Wakili.tech tools are aids to your practice. They do not provide legal advice and do not replace your professional judgement. Always check any output before relying on it, filing it or sharing it. You remain responsible for your professional obligations, including client confidentiality.
6.No warranty
The Hub and our tools are provided "as is" and "as available". We take reasonable care, but we do not guarantee that any content or output will be accurate, complete, current or fit for a particular purpose.
7.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Kenya, Wakili.tech is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, business, goodwill or reputation, arising from your use of the Hub. Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Hub is limited to KSh 1,000. Liability for individual tools is set out in each tool's terms. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012 that cannot lawfully be limited.
8.Indemnity
You agree to compensate Wakili.tech for any claims, losses or costs arising from your breach of these Terms or from your misuse of the Hub or any tool.
9.Intellectual property
You keep all rights in your own documents and content. The Wakili.tech name, logo, design, content and software belong to Wakili.tech or its licensors. You may not copy, modify or redistribute them except as allowed by law.
10.Third-party links
The Hub may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.
11.Independence
Wakili.tech is an independent project and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Law Society of Kenya or the Judiciary.
12.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version. If you keep using the Hub after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
13.General
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice, are the entire agreement between you and Wakili.tech about the Hub.
14.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
15.Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@wakili.tech.
